TRI-UNION GROUP OF COMPANIES

HISTORY

The Parent Company, Tri-Union was originally founded in Shanghai, China. It moved to Hong Kong in 1948. Since its founders have always been a part of the Textile Industry; with an excellent and complete range of textile machineries, it has enabled the company to grow and become one of the largest textile machinery agents in the region, competing successfully against all major European, American and Japanese companies. In the seventies, Tri-Union also established itself as an important suppliers' agent in raw materials and chemicals for textile and synthetic fibre industries. At the same time, it diversified into general and industrial machineries such as flour and feed milling, fibre plants, plastic, paper, tire cord machineries, pre-fabricated building structures, complete cement plant equipment and power plants etc.
  
1960 - Its first overseas office was established in Bangkok, Thailand.

1966 - Established in Taiwan and re-organized in 2002 with younger management.

1971 - The Jakarta representative office was established with a branch in Bandung.

1974 - First Korean operation was started, but sold to the Korean founder in 1985. Re-purchased the Korean operation in 1993.

1977 - Manila office was set up. Re-organized in 2008 as representative office under Hong Kong supervision.

1983 - Commenced operations in P.R.C. with offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

1993 - Set up offices in Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City).
  
Thus, the Group Companies effectively extend their operations throughout the Far East and the Asean Region.
  
In early 1976, in order to consolidate all overseas holdings, investments, and to enable better sales support, coordination and management, a separate corporate office, Tri-Union Management Co. Ltd. was established. This also made our Hong Kong company, Tri-Union Industrial Supplies, Ltd, independent for Southern China regional operations.
